Honda unveils new fuel cell vehicle

Honda Motor Co. on Tuesday unveiled new versions of its fuel cell vehicle and NSX sports car at its research center in the town of Haga, Tochigi Prefecture.
The Japanese automaker will put both models on display at the Tokyo Motor Show starting Thursday.
Honda also said it will put self-driving technology into commercial use by 2020.
The new fuel cell vehicle is a successor to the FCX Clarity, which the company has been leasing since 2008. It will be put on sale as Honda's first mass-market fuel cell vehicle within fiscal 2015, which ends in March.
The new five-seater model has a significantly smaller fuel cell stack than its predecessor. It can travel over 700 kilometers per full hydrogen charge, exceeding the 650 kilometers for rival Toyota Motor Corp.'s four-seater Mirai.
